Hello to all our South West Region Club Members,
Well hasn’t 2021 been a bit of a roller coaster, Lockdown in the first few of months in the year, restrictions being relaxed a little, the 21st June didn’t quite happen and became the 19th July but we got there in the end!! but we are now able to get out and about in our units to a little more like the ‘norm’.
It was very hard for all of us during 2020 and 2021 with so many people loosing loved ones to this awful virus. The pandemic has taught us many things, so hopefully we are going into 2022 with a sense of purpose and relief that we are still able to enjoy our hobby.
With many more people buying caravans and motorhomes we have a real opportunity to welcome newcomers into our Club and hopefully we can encourage younger families to go out in their units and enjoy the countryside and all it has to offer.
2022 holds the promise of some great events which we can look forward to.
I know that our Centres have, or are in the process of preparing their Rally Programmes for 2022 so keep any eye out for the list which we hope to include on our website as soon as we have all the information, Paul, our Vice Chairman is keen to get this up and running as soon as possible.
Devon and Cornwall Centre are hopefully running their Anniversary Rally which has been postponed twice now and that will be in April/May, please see Devon & Cornwall’s brand new website for all the information.
The Club is hosting what was ‘The National’ but has now been renamed to ‘Club Fest’ which is being held at Belvoir Castle near Grantham over the Queen’s Platinum Weekend at the beginning of June. Full details can be found on the Club’s website.
South West Centres is holding it’s Inaugural Event from 29th June to 5th July at Cirencester Park to coincide with the Cotswold Show, an event not to miss, again all details can be found on the South West Centres’ website.
We mustn’t forget our Club network which is offering special deals for mid-week stays. There is now the opportunity for family and friends to hire Safari Tents, Yurts, Pods or Glamping Cabins so that they can enjoy the benefits of spending a holiday with you on a Camc Club Site.
Then there are the CL’s, there have been a lot of new CL’s coming on board during the last 18 months, some closures as well but nevertheless there is over 2000 to choose from if you like the quieter option of caravanning.
I am really looking forward to getting out and about a lot more in the coming year and I hope to meet up with you whether it be on a Club Site, Rally Field or a Certified Location.
Please remember everyone that Covid has not left us, please continue to follow the rules and stay safe and well in the coming year.
Best Wishes to you all, Sheelagh
