Dear Southwest Region Members,
I do hope you are all keeping well and staying safe in these very uncertain times. 2020 was a year we don’t really want to dwell on too much and no doubt you were looking forward to the New Year and 2021. Unfortunately 2021 has not started well, however we have a lot to look forward to so we must remain positive and think of all those good things which are going to happen.
Although we are unsure when we will be able to get out and about again, planning our journeys and looking for sites is all part and parcel of what we enjoy. So get out your new handbook and map, look on the Club App for sites and if you are thinking of going abroad then look on the Club’s website for the foreign holiday and tours which they are organizing. There is an awful lot of information which can help us keep up our spirits right now.
The Club is continuing to put procedures in place to make sure that when we can go to Club Sites and Certified Locations (CL’s) we can go with confidence and reassurance that our safety will be paramount.
Centres have put together their Rally/Events for 2021 and although we don’t quite know when they will be able to go ahead there is an awful lot to choose from, there are weekend events, 4 day and 5 day holidays as well as week and fortnight holiday events taking place. One Centre is organizing a four week event so do have a look at your Centre’s website for more information. We are planning to publish a list of rallies and events on our website very shortly so all the information should be easy to access.
This year sees Anniversary Celebrations by three of our Centres, Devon and Cornwall are holding their 4000th Celebrations in May, Avon Centre is hosting their 3000th Anniversary Celebrations in July and East Dorset their 35+1 year’s Anniversary over the August Bank Holiday. These will be great events, some will have entertainment for both adults and the children, please check them out.
Whatever you plan to do this year, please remember to stay safe and keep well.
I look forward to being able to meet up with you when we can get out and about later in the year.
Take Care and Best Wishes to you all
